Gen.G Esports secured a 2-0 victory against Nongshim RedForce in the second round of the 2026 League of Legends Champions Korea (LCK) regular season, held at the LoL Park Chzzk Arena in Jongno on the 6th. In the first game, despite facing a deficit of nearly 10,000 gold, the team maintained its focus under the leadership of 'Chovy' Jeong Ji-hoon to pull off a comeback. They then clinched the series in the second game by leveraging a massive snowball effect that began in the top lane.
The following is the full transcript of the post-match interview with head coach Yoo Sang-wook and Jeong 'Chovy' Ji-hoon.

Q. You've reached a five-game winning streak with today's victory. Any thoughts.
Head Coach Yoo Sang-wook = We were a bit shaky in Game 1, but I'm happy we won 2-0.
'Chovy' = It was a back-and-forth, chaotic game, but I'm satisfied that we still managed to win 2-0.
Q. How do you think you managed to pull off a 2-0 win despite the chaotic nature of the games? And 'Chovy', are you satisfied with your own performance.
Head Coach Yoo Sang-wook = I think we won because we played teamfights better than our opponents today. In Game 1, we had some operational mistakes regarding positioning and resource allocation, but aside from that, it was a satisfying day.
'Chovy' = I maintained my focus throughout the games. I'm satisfied that I was able to make the best plays possible as the situations shifted.
Q. The recent patch brought changes to the mid lane quest. What are your thoughts.
'Chovy' = I believe it's a 6% increase in attack damage and ability power, but in terms of raw numbers, it doesn't feel like a huge difference. Systems like the empowered recall didn't seem particularly great either, but I do think it's an improvement over what we had before.
Q. You picked Cassiopeia as the final pick for the red side in Game 1, which paved the way for the comeback. What was the reasoning behind that.
'Chovy' = Basically, I don't find the laning phase against Ryze uncomfortable. Also, the opponent's composition had many champions that like to dive in, and I judged that, aside from Ezreal, it was a game where Cassiopeia could really shine.
Q. When the gold gap reached 9,900 in Game 1, did you think a comeback was possible?
Head Coach Yoo Sang-wook = Our composition was one that gets stronger as the game goes on. Since our laners had farmed well, I believed that if we just picked the right timing to group up and positioned ourselves correctly for fights, we could definitely win.
'Chovy' = Our composition was a bit passive, so I thought we had to capitalize on the opponent's mistakes to win.
Q. You're on a five-game winning streak, but there seem to be areas for improvement in your gameplay. How do you plan to address them?
Head Coach Yoo Sang-wook = It's great to keep the winning streak alive, but I don't think our performance is perfect. We are consistently working as a team to elevate our level of play.
Q. Your next match is the DRX roadshow in Vietnam. What is your mindset heading into it.
Head Coach Yoo Sang-wook = It's a novel experience to play an LCK match in Vietnam, and I'm looking forward to meeting new fans. However, I think managing the players' physical condition will be crucial, so I'll be focusing on that.
'Chovy' = It's a unique experience. I'll be able to meet new fans, and I think playing in Vietnam will be a good experience. We'll make sure to have a good trip.
Q. What do you think is the most important role a mid laner must fulfill this season?
'Chovy' = Mid laners are really busy this season. You have to secure lane priority, help the jungler, keep an eye on the growth of other lanes, and manage your own growth as well. There's just so much to do from multiple angles.
Q. Lastly, a word for the fans.
Head Coach Yoo Sang-wook = We'll prepare well for the upcoming Vietnam roadshow and bring back a good result.
'Chovy' = We'll prepare well so that we can win all of our remaining matches.
