[LCK Today] Hanwha Life Esports locks in last LCK spot at the 2021 LoL World Championship

On September 1, in the LCK Regional Qualifiers for the 2021 LoL World Championship, Hanwha Life Esports swept Nongshim RedForce and advanced to the final round. This win confirmed a spot for Hanwha Life Esports at Worlds.

Starting from Game 1, Hanwha Life Esports picked Camille for their top laner Park “Morgan” Gi-tae. Morgan had played Camille in all games against Liiv SANDBOX in the first round of the gauntlet. Kim “Willer” Jeong-hyeon focused on the mid and bot lanes while Morgan survived without any critical accidents. The draft synergy worked out well later in the game, and Hanwha Life Esports took the first game.

In the second game, Nongshim RedForce banned out Camille. As if they were waiting for Camille to be banned, Hanwha Life Esports took Renekton for Morgan. The early game was easier for Hanwha Life Esports compared to game 1. Although Hanwha Life Esports lost a fight around Baron, they were able to stay focused in the game. After cutting off Lee “Rich” Jae-won’s Kennen, Hanwha Life Esports pushed forward to destroy the Nexus.

Game 3 was even easier for Hanwha Life Esports as they scored big in the bot lane. Jeong “Chovy” Ji-hoon’s Galio was unstoppable and Kim “Deft” Hyuk-kyu’s performance on Varus was amazing as well. This way, Hanwha Life Esports shut out Nongshim RedForce and got their hands on that last ticket to the World Championship.

Hanwha Life Esports will face T1 tomorrow to determine the seeding at the World Championship.
