Leaked first and later confirmed during BlizzCon 2021, World of Warcraft: Burning Crusade Classic is launching later this year. Like the original, this Classic Expansion will once again take players on a journey through the dark portal where powerful foes, including the iconic Illidan Stormrage, await.

When is Burning Crusade Classic's release date?

At the time of writing, no date has been confirmed, and we only have a "later in 2021" timeline. However, an opt-in for the Burning Crusade Classic beta is available already (although the beta doesn't have a launch date either). 

How much will Burning Crusade Classic cost?

Burning Crusade Classic won't cost anything beyond the monthly subscription of $15, just like WoW Classic. 

That said, players will have to choose which era do they play in: whether they stay in WoW Classic and Azeroth, or jump into Burning Crusade's Outland. Which is where additional fees may apply if you want to clone or boost a character. 

If you want to play both WoW Classic and Burning Crusade Classic with the same character, you'll have to clone it, and that'll cost money. Otherwise, you have to commit to an era and stick with it. Boosting a character to level 60 so you can enter the Dark Portal will also come with a fee, as well as a few restrictions: you can't boost a draenei or a blood elf, you can't buy more than one boost per account, and you can only boost in Burning Crusade and not WoW Classic. 

Wait, I can't boost draenei and blood elves? Won't that put me very behind?

In the past, yes. But for Burning Crusade Classic, players will be able to create blood elf paladins and draenei shamans in a pre-launch event, so you can catch up.
