On the 5th (KST), DragonX faced off against SeolHaeOne Prince in the 2020 LCK Summer split. It was a quick 2-0 victory for DRX, as they continued their undefeated streak in the Summer split so far to continue their dominance at the top of the standings.

Congrats on the victory.

We won again, and I’m glad that we remain undefeated. I made a lot of mistakes in game 1, so although we’re satisfied on the team level, I’m personally not satisfied.

What were those mistakes in game 1?

The first mistake was dying to Sylas during the bot lane skirmish, and the second one was dying to Varus by overextending under their turret.

What was the focal point of the draft against SP?

We believed that we’ll do well against meta picks, so we focused on banning the non-meta picks they’ve potentially prepared. Heimerdinger was one of them, and we understood that there must’ve been a reason why they sent out Trigger and Mia.

What’s the reason why you picked Ezreal into Varus in game 1?

I think that those two champions have different item spikes, and I believed that I could face Varus with Ezreal.

SP is a team that plays very aggressively.

While they are a team that plays very aggressively, they can’t play like that if they’re behind. That’s why we focused on shutting them down right from the get-go. 

Leona is a champion that’s highly contested with an insane win rate in the LPL. Why do you think she isn’t being picked in the LCK?

Once Leona goes in, there’s no way for her to come back out. She goes all in. However, she’s being practiced a lot during scrims, so we might see her more soon.

DAMWON, KT, and HLE are DRX’s remaining opponents for Round 1. Thoughts on the match ups?

DAMWON is a team that I’m very excited to play against because they’re one of the best in the league at the moment. I’m also excited to play against KT, because I want to kill Smeb over and over again.

Can you send a message to Smeb?

I want to savor the moment when he becomes really sad after a loss (laughter).
