On the 3rd of April (KST), in the 2020 League of Legends Champions Korea Spring Split, the top teams Gen.G and T1 secured a victory and DAMWON Gaming also secured another win in the race for the playoffs. In the first match, Gen.G demolished SANDBOX Gaming 2-0 and maintained 1st place. Kim "Kellin" Hyeong-gyu started at support in this match. Game 1 was completely in Gen.G’s pace. They snowballed their early benefit into a clean victory. Gen.G struggled a bit in Game 2, giving up the initiative a few times, but Gen.G succeeded to turn the game around through a few victories.
T1 played against Griffin in the second match. It seemed that Griffin may upset the second-placed team as they took Game 1 after a critical mistake by T1. However, T1 didn’t lose their concentration. The teamwork and synergy were still at the top and T1 was able to win the following two games. In the second game, Lee “Faker” Sang-hyeok surpassed Go “Score” Dong-bin’s record of 544 LCK games played and became the player to have played in the most LCK games. Lee "Effort" Sang-ho had great performances, being voted for the Player of the Game in both of the games T1 won.
The third game was a clash between the teams at the edge of the playoffs contention. DAMWON Gaming and Afreeca Freecs clashed. DAMWON started Jang “Ghost” Yong-jun in their bot lane and Ghost responded by carrying the team. Ghost played Varus and Aphelios in the two games and delivered massive damage. Heo “ShowMaker” Su’s Zoe in the second game was also quite impressive. With the win, DAMWON placed themselves at 5th, within playoffs contention.
