The GDC, or Game Developers Conference, set for March has been postponed until this Summer, following the footsteps of many other tournaments and events throughout the entertainment industry. The conference, which has been going on for over 30 years, features panels, expositions, game awards, an Independent Games Festival, and more. It brings in developers from both gaming and esports alike to share experiences and network, fostering growth across the board.

While they are postponing the event itself, much of it will still take place and be made available for free online, both through live streams and otherwise. GDC is coordinating with speakers and others to upload their presentations online in hopes of salvaging some of the work they had already prepared. The Game Developers Choice Awards and Indie Game Festival will also be made available as well, with more information on those to come. 

For those who planned to attend the event, GDC states they will be giving a full refund, and to follow instructions via email in order to work those out. Additionally, if you booked a hotel inside the GDC room block, there will be no penalties made on the booking. More information will be available in the coming weeks on how to resolve that as well.
