New goodies for the Nexus are in development! Blizzard released their first look at Valeera today, as well as new skins and mounts to celebrate the Lunar New Year!
As a Warcraft Rogue, Valeera Sanguinar naturally falls into the “cloak and dagger” category, similar to Zeratul and Samuro. Her style appears to revolve around vanishing from sight and sneaking up behind her opponents to deliver mortal blows. Detection will be a must against her. She also has several abilities that allow her to become immaterial and dodge all incoming damage.
Her passive, Vanish, appears to be an activatable stealth similar to Wind Walk. Her E ability, Eviscerate, appears to deal massive damage and execute enemies when stabbing from behind. The positional play for this ability will probably be what separates good Valeera players from bad ones.
Blade Flurry on W is a standard area of effect wave-clear ability that does a moderate amount of damage in the small area around Valeera. She also has a short dash called Sinister Strike on Q, during which she becomes immaterial.
Valeera’s Heroics make her even more evasive and cunning. Smoke Bomb creates a small area where she is permanently cloaked for several seconds. On the other hand, Cloak of Shadows makes her go immaterial for a short time, allowing her to dodge skillshots and avoid taking massive damage.
In honor of the Lunar New Year next weekend, Blizzard also revealed the latest skins and mounts:
Master Valeera
Demon Hunter Valeera
Lunar Li-Ming
Monkey King Samuro
Felsaber Mount
Lunar Rooster
Nimbus Cloud
What’s better than riding a fearsome chicken into battle? The new hero, latest skins, and mounts are scheduled to arrive on January 24 just before the Lunar New Year, but Valeera herself is headed into the PTR tomorrow. See you there!
