In the second round of the 2026 League of Legends Champions Korea (LCK) regular season held at LoL Park in Jongno on the 6th, Gen.G Esports defeated Nongshim RedForce 2-0. After staging a comeback in Game 1 from a deficit of nearly 10,000 gold led by 'Chovy' Jeong Ji-hoon, Gen.G secured the series victory in Game 2 by snowballing an early lead from the top lane.
Game 1 was intense from the start, with both teams trading blows in a tightly contested match. During the laning phase, Nongshim RedForce generated kills centered around 'Sponge' Bae Young-jun's Nocturne, while Gen.G responded effectively to keep the trade balanced. 'Canyon' Kim Geon-bu’s Xin Zhao managed to steal two dragon stacks, and with the help of 'Chovy' Jeong Ji-hoon’s Cassiopeia, Gen.G secured a third. Conversely, Nongshim RedForce consistently forced fights with numerical advantages, slowly widening the gap.
Nongshim RedForce secured a massive victory in the dragon soul teamfight, taking down the front line and halting Gen.G's dragon stack. Although 'Kingen' Hwang Seong-hoon’s Sion was caught out, nearly giving up a Baron, 'Sponge' managed to steal it, turning the situation in their favor. However, while pressuring the nexus turrets, 'Diable' Nam Dae-geun’s Ezreal was caught, significantly narrowing the 9,900 gold lead. Ultimately, Gen.G swept four kills without losing a single member in the final Baron teamfight to complete their comeback victory in Game 1.
Gen.G took first blood in Game 2 when 'Canyon's' Skarner ganked the top lane to take down 'Kingen's' Twisted Fate. In the ensuing skirmish, which drew in both supports, Gen.G traded 2-1 in kills, bolstered by 'Kiin's' level advantage on Gnar. The balance of the top lane collapsed completely; every time Skarner visited, a death followed. While Nongshim RedForce managed to find some success in the mid and bottom lanes, the gap created in the top-jungle matchup was too large to overcome.
Gen.G demonstrated their dominance in a 5v5 dragon teamfight, unilaterally sweeping three kills. Despite this, Nongshim RedForce managed to create several opportunities by catching out isolated opponents with quick rotations. However, they could not penetrate the over-fed Skarner in teamfights. Maintaining their lead throughout, Gen.G closed out Game 2 with a final teamfight victory, punctuated by a massive ultimate from Mega Gnar.
