Gen.G has set the stage for the esports narrative in 2024 with a brand new roster. Following the expiration of contracts, excluding bot laner Kim “Peyz” Soo-hwan on Nov. 21, Gen.G revealed a reshaped lineup for the upcoming year.
One standout renewal is in the form of Jeong “Chovy” Ji-hoon, a pivotal player who has always demonstrated exceptional prowess in the mid lane. Gen.G strategically secured Chovy's continued commitment, ensuring a formidable core for the team.
The top lane will now be dominated by Kim “Kiin” Gi-in, a seasoned player who achieved an impressive 17-game winning streak in the last season. Known for his outstanding mechanics and strategic gameplay, Kiin's inclusion is poised to elevate Gen.G's capabilities and solidify their competitive edge.
Gen.G has acquired the services of the renowned Kim “Canyon” Geon-bu in the jungle. Canyon, a decorated player with multiple LCK championships and the coveted Worlds 2020 championship marks a significant shift for the upcoming season as he joins a new team.
The support role sees the return of Son “Lehends” Si-woo after a one-year leave. Lehends, who clinched his first LCK championship during the 2021 LCK Summer Split with Gen.G, spent a year with KT Rolster before making his comeback to the team.
Gen.G's vision for 2024 extends beyond the playing field, with a formidable coaching staff at the helm. They signed Kim “KIM” Jeong-soo as the head coach, who had been taking a break. Legendary support Cho “Mata” Se-hyeong and Kwon “Helper” Young-jae will aid KIM as coaches.
