On Oct. 29, in the last round of the Swiss Stage at the 2023 LoL World Championship, KT Rolster faced Dplus KIA. It was a 2-0 victory for KT Rolster, and they advanced to the quarterfinals. Dplus KIA’s journey at Worlds 2023 came to an end. After the match, KT Rolster jungler Moon “Cuzz” Woo-chan and mid laner Gwak “Bdd” Bo-seong joined Yoon Soo-bin for an interview.

Congrats on the win. You two played at Worlds together back in 2017. How do you feel making it to the quarterfinals?

Cuzz: I wasn’t able to get to Worlds after 2017. I’m happy that I’m here this time and reached the quarterfinals. I’m also happy that Bdd and I are doing well together.

Bdd: I feel good that I’m doing well together with Cuzz. We’ll improve more moving forward.

Your Swiss Stage matchups were the toughest. How did you prepare for today’s match?

Bdd: I didn’t feel too much pressure for today’s match. Since we kept on meeting good teams, we just worked hard.

In today’s match, Cuzz played Viego twice. You have a 15-2 record on Viego over the summer. How confident were you when you locked in Viego?

Cuzz: I’m very confident playing Viego, so I didn’t quite understand why they kept leaving Viego open. I believe I’m able to play it well because my teammates make plays well.

Bdd played Azir and Neeko. What was the main point of KT’s draft today?

Bdd: In our last game, the game was turned around. We talked a lot about playing a composition that we were originally good at, and we focused on having a lot of CCs.

The games were slow today. What’s the strength of KT that can overcome unfavorable situations?

Bdd: We have faith that we’re good in teamfights. Everyone thinks that we can turn the game around in the late game, even if we fall behind, so that’s probably where our strength comes from.

Tomorrow is Cuzz’s birthday. Happy birthday! What’s your goal for the knockout stage?

Cuzz: I’m really glad that we reached the quarterfinals. My best run at Worlds was the quarterfinals, so I want to reach the semis and even the finals. I’ll work hard to deliver in our next match. Thank you for wishing me a happy birthday.

It’s the fourth Worlds for Bdd. You reached at least the quarterfinals every time. How does it feel?

Bdd: Our performance is still shaky, but if we work on the details a bit more, we can reach higher places. We’ll prepare well and get higher up.
