In the first round of the 2021 LCK Spring Split Playoffs, Hanwha Life Esports took Nongshim RedForce in a full five-game series and reached the next round. Oh “Vsta” Hyo-seong was the hero of game 3 as he had a fantastic engagement on three champions using Rell. After the match, he joined Inven for an interview.

How do you feel about the win?

It was a long match that went five games, and I’m happy that we won.

It was the first playoffs game of your career. Weren’t you nervous before or during the game?

I wasn’t nervous at all. If you always trust your teammates you can’t get nervous. I didn’t prepare anything special because it was the playoffs.

The game went into game 5. How did you maintain your concentration?

Since Deft and Chovy have a lot of experience, they looked after the other players. Before game 5 started, our coaching staff kept us calm and told us to keep our concentration, to think that it’s the first game. I think we were able to win because of that.

Why did you ban Seraphine first in all games?

If we opened her, it felt that we were giving them an easy and strong champion. Seraphine can be swapped mid-support, and she’s good in teamfights. It’s kind of tricky to play against her.

In the third game, your fantastic initiation turned the game around. Could you explain what happened?

We saw the opponent Orianna in the bot lane so we talked about starting a teamfight if they started hitting the mid lane turret. When Jinx started hitting the turret, I just went in and started a fight.

It seems that Hanwha Life Esports is a lot quieter than other teams when destroying the Nexus. Is there a reason?

Including me, most of my teammates are quiet. Especially, Deft is a quiet person, so as much as he’s the captain of the team, it’s probably because of Deft [Laughs]. In bot lane, we don’t communicate that much, but it’s like there’s something going on telepathically.

You’ll be facing DWG KIA or Gen.G in the second round. Which team do you want to meet?

I want to meet DWG KIA in the second round. Our game against them in the regular season was very regretful. I want to do better in our next match. It’ll feel like the finals meeting DWG KIA in the playoffs.

Any last comments?

It was the first playoffs match of my career and it’s regretful that I wasn’t able to show a good performance. I’ll work harder and prepare better to show a better performance in the second round. Thank you to all the fans that watched and cheered.
