On Jan. 13, the 2021 League of Legends Champions Korea Spring Split started. In the first match, Gen.G destroyed kt Rolster in a quick 2-0 sweep, and in the second match, T1 featured a young roster against Hanwha Life Esports to take a 2-1 win.
Gen.G took care of kt Rolster through their strong laning. In game 1, Kim “Rascal” Kwang-hee’s Camille took off and went ahead by a great margin. After collecting an early solo kill, Rascal collected a total of five solo kills in the game. As the side lanes were demolished by Rascal, kt Rolster didn’t stand a chance.
Park “Ruler” Jae-hyuk’s Kai’Sa flew in the second game. He swept into the center of his opponents, killed the carry champions, and survived to lead the teamfight wins. If there wasn’t a small mistake during mid-game, the game would have been much shorter.
T1 featured a roster without veterans and proved why they did through their victory. In the first game, they picked the Camille-Galio composition with Choi “Ellim” El-lim’s Ghost-Ionian Boots of Lucidity Olaf. It was nearly a perfect game for the young lineup.
Game 2 was a showcase for Jeong “Chovy” Ji-hoon’s Orianna. Chovy scaled through his strong laning and dominated the Rift. There wasn’t a single mistake. Hanwha Life Esports focused on playing around Chovy to collect teamfight wins. The other players also played more solidly to tie the game.
However, the last game was taken by T1. Lee “Clozer” Ju-hyeon’s performance in game 2 wasn’t as good as expected, but as he got his hands on his favorite pick, Irelia, he proved himself. He collected a solo kill against Chovy’s Viktor in the early game and continued to play aggressively to bring the win to the team.
