North American organization Cloud9 is doubling down on VALORANT and expanded its presence in the game by announcing an all-Korean roster Thursday. The move is similar to what Korean organization T1 did — opening with a North American roster first and adding a Korean side just earlier this month.

Cloud9's Korean VALORANT roster is headlined by a couple of former Overwatch pros, including Byeon "Munchkin" Sang-beom and Park "Bazzi" Jun-ki. Munchkin comes from a four-year-long career in Blizzard's FPS, where he played for Seoul Dynasty and Boston Uprising in the Overwatch League, before stepping down this March. Bazzi started his Overwatch career in 2017 in the Korean-based Seven, before eventually getting signed by OWL franchise Hangzhou Spark. With the Spark, Bazzi would end up finishing fourth in the OWL 2019 Playoffs, losing to dominant eventual champions San Francisco Shock.

The rest of Cloud9's Korean roster in VALORANT is an assortment of FPS players coming from other titles. Kim "DoYa" Do-gyeong hails from PUBG, where he had a three-month stint with DAMWON Gaming, while Seung-Woo "Moothie" Yoo comes from the APEX Legends scene. The fifth member, Kang "Try" Tae-wook, is another former Overwatch pro, known for his fourth-place finish in APEX Challengers Season 4 as part of ROX Orcas.
