After six years, Terraria surpasses 20 million sold copies.
Re-Logic announced that they sold over 20 million copies of Terraria at the end of 2016, with over 8.5 million copies sold on PC alone in the 18 months following the 1.3 update.
Through an official post on their forum, Re-Logic thanked the players who made this achievement possible, and also thanked their publisher, 505 Games, for making the console and mobile versions of Terraria possible. The post also asked the fans to look forward to the 1.3 update on both console and mobile versions. Additionally, there were hints regarding additional updates for the PC version, and more information on the spin-off title - 'Terraria: Otherworld'.
When Terraria was released in February 2011, it was a humble game with just 250 items, 3 bosses and 20 types of enemies. However, after 6 years of the developers' dedication, Terraria is now playable on PC, Xbox 360, PS4, 3DS and mobile devices with over 3,800 items, 350 types of enemies, 16 boss encounters, and several in-game events including collaborations with other games.
