Rekkles is one of the most decorated players in European League of Legends history, but found himself without any offers in the LEC after being benched and put up for buyout by G2 Esports after the organization missed the World Championship for the first time ever in the 2021 season.
It has been just over a month since G2 Esports announced they were benching Martin "Rekkles" Larsson and putting up his contract for a potential buyout, but it seems that the team is having trouble moving the elite AD carry.
The G2 Esports AD carry achieved the milestone in his team's win over Rogue in week 5 of the 2021 League of Legends European Championship Summer Split.
This is the fourth time Rekkles has won the award, the most of any player in the history of competitive European League of Legends.
In game 2 of G2's series against FC Schalke 04 Esports in the 2021 League of Legends European Championship Spring Playoffs, Rekkles secured his 500th career kill in the EU post-season on his way to a phenomenal 14/2/6 Ashe performance.
Rekkles might not end up being an individual upgrade to Perkz with G2 Esports, but he doesn’t have to be if the team reaches new heights with him in the backline for 2021.
