Former Naventic players file lawsuit against owner for unpaid earnings
Today it was revealed by Dot Esports' reporter Nicole Carpenter that five former professional Heroes of the Storm players for Team Naventic have filed a lawsuit against former owner, James Ross Elliot II, for more than $50,000 in unpaid earnings. According to the report and information provided to InvenGlobal, the players had tried to serve court documents to the owner 14 times. But, due to Elliot's unknown location, they had been unable to complete the process. The Dot Esports report claims that Christopher “zuna” Buechter, Ken “Kenma” Buechter, Sammuel “bigempct” Hua, Thomas “Tomster” Maguire, and Josh “bkid” Choi state that they are owed $55,125 in unpaid wages and prize money, not including interest.

Riot Hosts Their First LCK Regular Season Event, Accidental Camera Shot Exposes a Team’s Strategies
January 16th was the first day of the LCK 2019 Spring Season. The LCK had been hosted by OGN until this year, as Riot decided to take over and host the tournament themselves. This makes it the very first day of the first regular season with Riot hosting and they have already faced a disaster; an unfortunate camera angle exposed a team's strategies and drafts. This incident took place when the first set of the SKT T1 vs. Jin Air Green Wings match ended and the second set was about to start. The camera caught Alvingo, the coach for Jin Air Green Wings, holding a notebook; the camera exposed the strategies and drafts Alvingo had written down for his team, including the ones for their future games.

DJ Steve Aoki and Imagine Dragons band members and others invest $10.8M in esports organization ReKTGlobal
ReKTGlobal, the parent company of Rogue, today announces a $10.8-million Series A funding round. The global esports venture company’s financing was led by Nick Gross, an entrepreneur, philanthropist and musician, who is founder of entertainment and media company Gross Labs and will now join the board of ReKTGlobal. Other notable investors participating in the round include Steve Aoki, Imagine Dragons band members and manager Mac Reynolds, Live Nation, Larry Rudolph, partner of Maverick Management, Ozone Entertainment founder Bret Disend, and 1916 Management founder Jonny Gordon along with other sports, media, and entertainment investors.

Untara Posts an Explanation Video Regarding Recent Controversy
Untara posted a video on his YouTube channel that briefly explained his position regarding the controversy he was involved in with bbq Olivers. On January 8th, Untara posted a video on his channel that showed bbq Oliver's new jungler, Malice, pinging excessively at his teammates. This led to LS, the coach for bbq Olivers, posting complaints on Twitter, accusing Untara of exaggerating Malice's in-game behavior to garner views and bullying Malice because he is a foreigner in Korea. Untara, in his defense, responded that he had no intention of exaggerating or bullying Malice for being a foreigner. He also said that he will be taking the video down if it makes them uncomfortable. However, Untara decided against it since he thought he found nothing wrong with it. He provided further details on his thoughts during his stream, which he later posted to Youtube on January 15th; the video briefly explained his stance on the whole situation.
