As a part of their 10 Year Anniversary Event, Riot Games announced Wild Rift, which brings the classic League of Legends we all know and love to mobile and console platforms. Riot plans to have it out on all Android and iOS by the end of 2020, and consoles to follow. There will be both Alpha and Beta releases as well, so be sure to visit their site (linked below) with hopes to be selected.
The game is not a one-to-one port of our beloved PC version. It currently features around 40 champions, on a map similar to Summoner's Rift, and the games will last around 15-20 minutes on average. The skills and movement will be remastered to fit better with mobile controls, but everything will stay close to the core of the League feel.
Wild Rift was developed from scratch, meaning they rebuilt every single part of it - no borrowed code. (Hopefully Mordekaiser isn't available on release so we can avoid those pesky bugs.) It will also be a completely fresh start for you as a player. You can not link your account to gain access to everything you already own, but there will be a currently unknown reward for those of us who have been dedicated League players before.
Wild Rift will remain free to play, but in-app purchases are present, of course. There will be a ranked mode as well, so maybe you'll finally hit Diamond on your phone.
There will not be any cross-platform play between PC and mobile/console, but there is potential for cross-platform between mobile and console. The game does not require a new phone, going back as far as iPhone 5S for the iOS version.

That makes 33 champs of the supposed near 40 for release. What other champs do you hope they release? Thresh and Diana better make an appearance!
