Day 1 of Rift Rivals 2019: NA vs. EU featured an absolute slaughter of the North American teams at the hands of the LEC representatives. Whatever strengths G2 Esports has exhibited seemed to have other teams in the LEC taking notes — the LCS teams didn't win a game.
G2 opened the day with a stomp of Cloud9, which featured an incredibly flexible performance from the team all around. Mihael "Mikyx" Mehle answered C9's Sona Bot Lane pairing with a full AP Gragas Support, and Luka "Perkz" Perković's Yasuo swapped lanes with Martin "Wunder" Hansen's Neeko to counter Eric "Licorice" Ritchie's Gnar.
G2 Esports Jungler Marcin "Jankos" Jankowski joined Nick Geracie to discuss his role in G2, the unique attributes of G2's strengths, and of course, his favorite reason for coming to America — the food.
"LA has top chefs for every cuisine," said Jankos. "If you come from a place that a dish is from, they may be able to make it better here...When I come to America, I know I'm here for like a week at maximum, so I let myself eat everything...Before we played Cloud9, I ate so much food. There was two caterers in the studio and I went to both of them for food."
Whether it be feasting on NA food or NA teams, Jankos is making sure he gets his fill.
