On the second match in the opening day of 2017 LCK Spring Split, Samsung Galaxy emerged victorious against Longzhu Gaming with 2-1 record after a long siege against Longzhu's base in Set 3. For Minseung "Haru" Kang, it was his first match after being transferred to Samsung Galaxy. However, that did not stop him from performing well in Set 2 with Rek'sai and dominating Set 3 with Kha'zix.
Here is our brief interview with him.
Congratulations on your first win. How are you feeling right now?
I felt very tense at first, but I think I was able to win the match because I could play just as I've practiced.
Were you planned to be subbed in if the team drops the first set?
I won't go into details, but the team's plan was for me to be subbed in when we are on the Blue side. I stayed in the roster for Set 3 because the team's morale was high as it is.
Are the members of new Samsung Galaxy getting along well?
We are all quite close and get along well with each other. Though, to be honest, I'm finding Chanyong "Ambition" Kang a bit more difficult than the others because we are competing for the same spot.
Your play with Kha'zix on Set 3 was very impressive. What are your thoughts on Kha'zix?
I feel very confident with him. He is pretty powerful too. I think Kha'zix has an edge over most champs in terms of damage output.
Were there any difficult moments during the match?
In Set 2, the bottom turret was taken down earlier than expected, but I thought we still had a chance because our midlaner and jungler was ahead of theirs. In Set 3, Longzhu Gaming did mount an impressive defense, but I thought it was too late for them as they lost their inhibitors. Even their Baron kill came at a cost.
Many commentators have high expectations of your career with Samsung Galaxy. What are your thoughts about this?
I'm certain that they will not be disappointed.
Thank you very much. Do you have anything else that you want to add?
This season, we are in it to win it.
