PawN will be sitting out during the 2019 LCK Summer Split.
On the 29th, Kingzone DragonX made an announcement on Twitter that Pawn will be taking a break next split for health recovery. This isn't the first time that Pawn had health issues, as he had been suffering from a herniated disk on his lower back all throughout his career. Despite the health issues, however, Pawn was able to hold his own against the likes of Faker and the other talented LCK mid laners during the 2019 LCK Spring.
Fans are curious as to whether or not Kingzone had acquired another mid laner to pair with Ucal.
The following is Kingzone's message:
"Hello, it's KING-ZONE.
We hereby announce that PawN is going to have a time for rest and recovery under mutual consent with the team.
During our contract with PawN, we took a close look at his health problems which he suffered in the past year, and we have been fully committed to support him to overcome those problems.
As a result, PawN has received a lot of applaud from fans for his outstanding performance at the 2019 LCK Spring Split.
However, during the post-season vacation, his health deteriorated. After returning to the team, all our coaching staff and PawN have sought out several solutions together. PawN had continued talk with the mental coach and all the other coaching staff also spared no effort to care him for him feel comfortable and relaxed. We, however, finally agreed to take some time for recovery according to his will.
Prior to making such a tough decision, PawN made greatest efforts such as training individually with the mental coach instead of going to the Jeju island for the team workshop. Nevertheless, we conclude that taking a rest is the best option for him.
Thus, we agreed to put his recovering as the first option based on his opinion and current condition. We are planning to work together so that he can come back as quickly as possible through ongoing training, counselling and management.
While we feel so unhappy for delivering the sad news, we ask for your support and encouragement to our team members and coaching staff who are struggling with this difficulty together with PawN. We sincerely wish PawN's successful return.
Thank you."
