NA LCS organization FlyQuest announced the resignation of Head Coach Brandon "Saintvicious" DiMarco in a press release on via twitter:
Today, we announce the resignation of our League of Legends team Head Coach, Brandon "Saintvicious" DiMarco. FlyQuest truly appreciates the hard work and insight that brandon has provided over the last year. We wish him well in his career and know he will be able to shine in any opportunity he is given.
Saintvicious' resignation comes just one day after a clip from his Twitch stream became a subject of controversy in the League of Legends community. In the clip, Saintvicious gave his perspective on mental illness while streaming, which was met from disapproval from fans as well as other professionals in esports. Shortly after his resignation, Saintvicious addressed his comments in a post on his facebook page.
Saintvicious joined FlyQuest as a Strategic Coach before the 2018 NA LCS Summer Split, replacing Jung "RapidStar" Min-sung on stage to draft with the team. As a coach, Saintvicious led FlyQuest to a playoff berth for the first time since the organization's inception in the spring of 2017.
FlyQuest Academy Head Coach Gabriel "Invert" Zoltan-Johan and recently signed Assistant Coach David "Cop" Roberson will be handling all coaching duties until further notice. Invert, the former Head Coach of University of Toronto, led FlyQuest Academy to a 2018 NA Academy Spring Championship. Cop was most recently a coach for OpTic Gaming before being signed by FlyQuest.
