On the 12th (KST), EDG defeated Team Liquid and ended their 3rd day of groups with a 2-0 score.

Team Liquid drafted for the late game with Kai’Sa and Galio. Unfortunately, EDG gave no time for Liquid to scale and started fights during the early to mid game. Alongside Lucian, Nocturne, and Azir, EDG was able to force and dominate the mid game teamfights.

After the game, we got to interview EDG’s jungler, Clearlove. Below are the interview responses.

¤ How do you feel about the win?

First of, our team comp becomes extremely strong when it gets to the mid game. Once we started to team fight and I saw Scout playing so well on Azir, I knew the game was ours to take.


¤ Several jungle options were still available for you, why did you prioritize the Nocturne over the others?

Despite a few bans towards the jungle and good options remaining, I chose Nocturne because out of the pool of champions left I was most confident on Nocturne. This is why I picked Nocturne.


¤ The fight in the top lane when you dodged the Sion ulti with your own ulti, you swayed the fight for EDG. Was this intended?

The location for the Sion tp was extremely good. To be honest, I could have dodged the Sion ulti with my W. However, I decided it was a lot beneficial and safer to just dodge the Sion ulti with my own.


¤ TL is the number one seed team for NA. After vsing them, what are your thoughts on TL and NA?

Before the game today, we did watch several VODS of TL’s games. I think TL plays very well during the early game. However, when it goes to the mid to late game, it seems that TL has some issues regarding teamfighting and macro.


¤ EDG’s next game is against kt. kt is considered Korea’s last hope. What are your thoughts on kt and how will you prepare against Score?

kt is the number one seed from Korea, so I know they are an incredibly strong team to face. Depending on how many mistakes we make, I think will determine whether we will win or lose the match. In regards to Score, Score has very similar experience and playstyle to myself. Tomorrow’s game against kt will definitely be an exciting game to play and watch.
