NBA 2K League Week 9 Preview

NBA 2K League games are streamed on Twitch, every Friday from 6-10 p.m. ET and Saturdays from 11a.m.- 2 p.m. ET and 4-7 p.m. ET.

Playoff Chase

There are four weeks of the regular season remaining for teams to secure their place in the NBA 2K League Playoffs, which begin August 17. Eight teams will make the playoffs: the seven teams with the best records and Knicks Gaming (by winning THE TICKET, the third and final in-season tournament). With five teams (Mavs Gaming, Heat Check Gaming, Magic Gaming, Jazz Gaming, Wizards District Gaming) currently at 5-4, Week 9 will be pivotal for a number of teams.

Lineup Changes

In THE TICKET, we saw teams adjust to the latest patch by changing their lineups. For example, Mavs Gaming moved Artreyo “Dimez” Boyd to the small forward position and Kings Guard Gaming moved Jhade “worthingcolt” Black to the point guard position. Teams will have some tough lineup decisions as they continue to adjust to the patch and prepare for the playoff push.

Detroit Basketball

With another deep tournament run at THE TICKET, Pistons GT has shown that their dual combo of Ramo “Lets Get It Ramo” Radoncic and Frederick “Im So Far Ahead” Mendoza can make some noise in the playoffs. Currently on a two-game winning streak in the regular season, Pistons GT will look to secure a top-four seed in the NBA 2K League Playoffs.

Off the Court

On Wednesday, July 11, Mavs Gaming visited the Boys & Girls Club East Dallas to interact with 60 youngsters and spoke to them about their journey to the NBA 2K League. Team members also answered questions and played games with the youth. For a full recap of the event, click here.
