In the 2018 LCK Summer Split Round 1 Day 8, Griffin defeated Jin Air Green Wings 2-0. As of the win, Griffin reached first place. In game 2 of the match, Jeong “Chovy” Ji-hoon delivered outstanding performance and led the team to victory.
The following is the interview with Chovy.
Q. You’re on a 4-game winning streak now. How do you feel?
I think our hard work is being paid back with our results. I feel really good.
Q. You’re mostly appearing as a sub member. Don’t you want to be the starting member?
It’s rather more comfortable for me. There’s less pressure if I’m subbed in. I think I’d me more nervous if I play in Game 1.
Q. You seemed to be very confident playing Zoe. Is Zoe your most confident champion?
Zoe is a good champion, and I’m confident in hitting skillshots. I’m confident to play her well against any champion.
Q. You’re the youngest player in the LCK. Is there any pressure?
There’s no pressure being the youngest player and except for lacking experience, there’s not much things that I have a hard time going through. At first, the LCK stage was a bit scary, but now I’m used to it.
Q. Do you have a role model or a player that you want to play against?
I used to want to meet Faker from when I was an amateur player. Faker’s the player that has been at the top the longest, so I’m looking forward to playing against him.
Q. Your next match is against SKT T1. Are you confident of winning?
Our team is really good so I’m really confident. They’re a team that we can beat if I don’t have bad performance.
Q. Now you’ll be playing against stronger teams. How do you think it will go?
We’ll be able to beat any of them delivering good performance if we don’t make mistakes. I’m always full of confidence.
Q. In the current state, it seems that Griffin will get very positive results at the end of the season. What do you think would be a realistic goal?
I think we’ll be able to make it to the top 3 if we can maintain our prowess.
Q. Many people say that the current meta goes well with Griffin. How do you think?
I agree partially. The current meta prioritizes mechanics and we practice a lot focusing on teamfights. I think that’s why we’re having good results.
