A week has passed since the first (Level 56) Rabam skills were been added in Black Desert Online NA/EU, and the second (Level 57) Rabam skills are coming this week. Just like the Level 56 Rabam skills, the Level 57 Rabam skills are new skills that are made of two already existing main skills. You can choose one skill between two options.
There are classes that use Level 57 Rabam skills a lot, and there are classes don’t use them at all. Some skills are only used for PvP while other skills are not used at all, so know the skill mechanics in advance and don’t waste your skill points on the skills you are not going to use!
Below are the recommendations for Level 57 Rabam skills, based on damage, animation delay, mechanics, and efficiency.
Related: Level 56 Rabam Skills Recommendations
■ Warrior
The Warrior’s Level 57 Rabam skills are Shield Assault (Ultimate: Shield Charge + Shield Strike) and Shield Tide (Ultimate: Shield Charge + Upper Shield Strike).
Shield Assault is used in PvE occasionally. The skill has Forward Guard and can add to the Warrior’s survivability while grinding in high-level spots. However, the damage is not particularly high and Warriors don’t use pre-awakening skills a lot in PvE. The skill has a small AoE and long delay, so is not used in PvP.
In contrast, Shield Tide is not used in PvE but is occasionally used in 1vs1 fights. It is used to maintain a grab combo against opponents that are stiffened or cannot guard, or to deal more damage with Shield Charge. The problem is that it has long animation before the skill, making it hard to hit the targets.
■ Sorceress
Level 57 Rabam skill is a must-have for the Sorceress. The Sorceress’ Level 57 Rabam skills are Engulfing Shadow (Crow Flare + Midnight Stinger) and Abyssal Blow (Crow Flare + Abyssal Flame).
Engulfing Shadow has everything that a good skill needs; short cooldown, Stun, Down Attack, and most importantly, Super Armor. Using the skill with quick slot is recommended, as it is a main-hand weapon skill and is hard to use in Awakening stance.
Abyssal Blow can recover HP, but is not used in most cases since Engulfing Shadow is better in every way.
■ Berserker
The Berserker’s Level 57 Rabam skills are Wailing Beast (Beast Roar + Wrath of Beast) and Axe of Destruction (Beast Roar + Frenzied Destroyer). Wailing Beast is good for both PvE and PvP, and Axe of Destruction is almost never used.
Wailing Beast is used in both PvE and PvP, but is more efficient in PvP. The skill will recover HP, and will deal massive damage when the skill fully hits the target. It will also pull monsters and allow for faster grinding.
Axe of Destruction has long animation delay, and cannot deal much damage.
■ Ranger
Like the Ranger’s Level 56 Rabam skills, the Ranger’s Level 57 Rabam skills are not used much. The Ranger’s Level 57 Rabam skills are Roaring Arrow (Ultimate: Tearing Arrow + Razor Wind) and Fury Arrow (Ultimate: Tearing Arrow + Penetrating Wind). If you only play PvE, you do not need any Rabam skills. If you play PvP, Roaring Arrow can work as a ranged CC skill.
Roaring Arrow is a ranged knock down skill with Super Armor. It has low damage, and thus not good for PvE. Fury Arrow is a ranged CC skill with low damage too, but it lacks SA/FG.
■ Tamer
The Tamer’s Level 57 Rabam skills are Jolt Stab (Flash: Stance Shift + Jolt Wave) and Legendary Beast’s Claw (Flash: Stance Shift + Heilang: Scratch).
Jolt Stab can be an off-DPS skill in PvE. It will pull monsters, allowing the Tamer to deal more damage using Absolute skills and/or Level 56 Rabam skill to a group of monsters.
Legendary Beast’s Claw is more focused on PvP, but is not used very often. You should only get the skill of you have some extra skill points. The skill can deal large amount of damage using the down attack combo, but it is not easy to successfully hit the target with the skill.
■ Valkyrie
The Valkyrie’s Level 57 Rabam skills are Divine Slam (Divine Power + Sword of Judgement) and Divine Descent (Divine Power + Elion’s Blessing), and Divine Slam is the more preferred one.
Divine Slam is frequently used in both PvE and PvP for its decent damage and down smash. However, the skill is not enough to be a main DPS skill, as the pure damage is not that powerful.
Divine Descent is a skill that can increase the Valkyrie’s survivability with DP buff and Super Armor. It also increases down attack damage and air attack damage, but the enormously long cooldown (2 minutes) makes the skill not viable.
■ Musa
The Musa’s Level 57 Rabam skills are Quick Shot (Rising Storm + Stub Arrow) and Pouncing Dragon (Rising Storm + Dragon Bite). The skills are neither good nor bad, but Quick Shot is more preferred than the other one in general.
Quick Shot will give the Musa an additional, stronger Stub Arrow. It can deal decent amount of damage with 100% critical hit in PvE, and used as a mid-ranged poking skill in PvP.
Pouncing Dragon can deal decent damage, but only when the skill fully hits. Since it is a situational skill and hard to fully hit the target with it, the skill is used less often than Quick Shot.
■ Maehwa
The Maehwa’s Level 57 Rabam skills are Blooming Step (Blooming + Dragon Bite) and Blooming Stride (Blooming + Backstep Slash). Both skills have invincibility at the start of the skill and Forward Guard while attacking, and neither one is considered as a good skill.
Blooming Step will give DP buff to the Maehwa and DP debuff to targets. It has longer travel distance than Blooming Stride, and can be used as a mobility skill in low-level grind spots where your grinding speed is fast and you have to move around a lot.
Blooming Stride can deal slightly more damage, but still it is not enough to be a main DPS skill. There are no significant advantages, but some players choose this skill instead of Blooming Step if they do not need an additional mobility skill.
■ Wizard and Witch
The Wizard and the Witch have the same Level 57 Rabam skills. The skills are Swift Earthquake (Earthquake + Speed Spell) and Trembling Thunder (Earthquake + Lightning Chain).
Unfortunately, neither one of the two skills are used. Swift Earthquake cannot deal much damage, and the duration of Bound is too short to inflict more damage. There are no benefits from using Swift Earthquake instead of Awakening Flow skills.
Trembling Thunder is almost never used in PvE because it cannot deal much damage, but is sometimes used in large scale PvP for Super Armor and speed debuff. But in general, neither one of them are used.
■ Kunoichi
The Kunoichi’s Level 57 Rabam skills are Assassin’s Trail (Heart Aiming + Ninja Evasion) and Ninjutsu: Heart Snatch (Heart Aiming + Ninjutsu: Black Moonlight).
Assassin’s Trail is a skill where the Kunoichi sets up a trap on the spot where she used to stand and jumps backward while being invincible.
The trap will be invisible to enemies, and will explode when the enemy touches it or after 5 seconds. Enemies hit by the explosion will be stunned for 3 seconds. The Kunoichi is vulnerable to attacks while setting up the trap so it is not easy to use the skill during large scale PvP. However, if the Kunoichi can lead enemies to a trap that has been already set up, she can deal a lot of damage to them.
Ninjutsu: Heart Snatch is a skill where the Kunoichi evades backward and then throws shurikens and kunais. The skill does not have any delay, and the enemies will be bound. The duration of bound is too short to maintain a combo, so the skill is often used at the end of a combo to escape.
Both skills are used more in PvP. Heart Snatch can be used in PvE as well, but is not required.
■ Ninja
The Ninja’s Level 57 Rabam skills are Illusion of Restraint (Ninjutsu: Block Jump + Ninjutsu: Shackles) and Ninjutsu: Decapitation (Ninjutsu: Block Jump + Beheading the Dead)
Both skills are very good, but Illusion of Restraint is relatively more popular for large AoE, fast casting speed, and decent damage. It is used as a skill to end a combo in both PvE and PvP.
Ninjutsu: Decapitation is also a good skill except for the fact that the Ninja is vulnerable to enemy attacks during the animation before the skill starts dealing damage. However, a lot of Ninja mains love the cool and dynamic animation and will say that the animation will worth the risk.
■ Dark Knight
The Dark Knight is another class that does not need Level 57 Rabam skills. The Dark Knight’s Level 57 Rabam skills are Obsidian Blaze (Wheel of Fortune + Obsidian Ashes) and Unveiled Fate (Wheel of Fortune + Unveiled Dagger).
Obsidian Blaze has low damage even though it is a level 57 Rabam skill, and has a long cooldown. Also, in order to get the skill, the Dark Knight must have Obsidian Ashes V, which is never used by Dark Knights. The skill will not worth the skill points.
Unveiled Fate also cannot deal much damage and has a long cooldown. However, the skill will not consume many skill points as most Dark Knights already have Unveiled Dagger. Having an extra attack speed buff is not bad, so if you have some extra skill points getting this skill will not be a bad choice.
■ Striker and Mystic
The Striker and the Mystic have the same Level 57 Rabam skills. The skills are Iron Fist Fury (Fist of True Strength + Fist Fury) and Perfect Blow (Fist of True Strength + Knee Hammer/Elbow Edge).
Both skills cannot deal more damage than Awakening skills, so using Awakening skills is better in terms of efficiency in PvE. However, Perfect Blow can quickly approach the target while inflicting CC in PvP. Perfect Blow is a good mobility skill with Forward Guard. The Striker/Mystic can use Perfect Blow and Flash Step as a combo and can start a combo before the enemy does.
Iron Fist Fury can counter-attack enemy’s CC skills. If perfectly timed, the skill can counter-attack the opponent using Super Armor and knock him/her down to initiate a grab combo. But since it is hard to use a well-timed Iron Fist Fury, the other one is more preferred in general.
