Just moments ago, Rod "Slasher" Breslau of ESPN reported that the South Korean off-tank player, Kim "Geguri" Se-yeon will be joining the Shanghai Dragons. The report was substantiated by "multiple sources close to players involved".

Multiple rumors have been floating around regarding Shanghai Dragon making a big roster move, but they had always been separate from the persistent rumor of Geguri joining the league. As of today, this is the first major report of Geguri's move to a pro-Overwatch League team. Geguri is a notably skilled Zarya player and is one of the most recognizable female players in the competitive scene.

If this turns out to be true, Geguri will be the first female player in the league.


Big moves for Shanghai

In addition to Geguri, tank player Lee "Fearless" Eui-Seok and flex player Cheon "Ado" Ki-hyun will, supposedly, be joining the Dragons as well. The Breslau's ESPN report also concludes that a fourth Chinese player who is currently unknown will also join the roster "should the deal go through."

Considering the Dragons embarrassing  0-8 start, the inclusion of three Korean players is a sign that the organization understands the sweeping changes it needs to make. An earlier interview with the Dragons team captain, UNDEAD, revealed that the team is aware of its tank issue and, these supposed roster changes may be what he meant by "a difference in our two tanks"

"In the future, we will try to enhance our training regimen for our tank player. We will start developing different strategies for this position. Hopefully, fans will see a difference in our two tanks."

Regardless of whether the moves will net the Dragons more wins, it will undoubtedly increase their popularity among fans. There is a growing underdog appeal for the only 0-8 team in the league and the signing of the first female player will bring a whole new dimension to how badly fans want to see the Dragons win.
