The game culture festival GXG 2026 held in Pangyo kicked off on the 11th. GXG 2026 takes place across two days, the 11th and 12th, around Pangyo Station Plaza and Tech One Tower.
On the first day, the event opened at 6:00 PM with the opening ceremony followed by a celebratory opening performance by Dynamic Duo. As the stage was set up right in front of Exit 1 of Pangyo Station, many office workers heading home on Friday evening stopped in their tracks to watch the performance. On stage, the finals for the GXG Sound Track followed. Sound Track is a contest showcasing music and performances inspired by games. This year, too, numerous high-level performances took place, earning enthusiastic cheers from the onsite crowd.
Visitors can also enjoy various exhibitions and hands-on programs. First, at Pangyo Station North Plaza, interactive programs such as the Costume Experience Zone, Play Lounge, Brand Experience Zone, Campus Arcade, and Cool Station have been set up. Here, visitors can play console games and board games firsthand, try on costumes, or get their faces painted. It is also a great place to take a break.
Near the stage, a costume exhibition displaying costumes, weapons, and props of Lost Ark characters is taking place. On the second floor of Tech One Tower, visitors can check out the original compositions that reached the Sound Track finals and the games that inspired them. In the Central Plaza, a social contribution exhibition related to the gaming industry is held.
A variety of collaborative events are also taking place. On the first floor of Tech One Tower, the 2026 IndieCraft exhibition is underway, where visitors can play various indie games. On the first floor of the Neowiz building, graduation projects by students from Gyeonggi Game Meister High School are on display. At the North Plaza, Illustar Fest is held, featuring a user-generated content market road and stage programs.
On Saturday, the second day of the event, hands-on activities and exhibitions will run the same as before. Collaborative events will shift slightly, while special programs take place on stage. Visitors can catch the Illustar Fest Stage, the AI GSDC awards ceremony, and the GXG Gala Concert.
