On August 1st (KST), Samsung Galaxy reached second place as they defeated ROX Tigers 2-1 in Day 41 of LCK Summer Split 2017. Chanyong "Ambition" Kang acted as the vanguard of SSG as he played Jarvan IV and Gragas in the match.

Here is our interview with Chanyong "Ambition" Kang.

Congratulations on reaching second place. How do you feel right now?

I'm relieved. It wasn't a clean win, but I'm glad we won in the end.

Today's win wasn't easy. Why do you think that was the case?

In Game 1 and 2 we made several mistakes - especially in Game 2. I think the biggest mistake was getting hooked by Thresh in the mid lane. That was when we lost our initiative.

How do you feel about having to defeat Longzhu to have a chance to be on first place?

I knew our match against Longzhu would be important a while ago. Although we won't be able to reach first place with on our own, but we need to do as much as we can by defeating Longzhu.

Why did you allow your opponent to pick Caitlyn in Game 3?

I thought the opponent might be setting us up. I think the plan was to open two top tier ADCs, force us to choose one while they pick the other ADC and another good pick. So, we decided to use that plan against them.

Do you get enough time to see your wife?

She sometimes come over to the team house for a meal, but I don't really get much time to see her. I think we need to take a long break by going straight to the finals. (Laughs)

Thank you for the interview. Do you have anything else that you want to share?

We had plenty of chances [to get ahead] this split, but missed it too many times already. However, since we still have one last chance, I want to do as much as I can. Also, I'd like tell my wife, who is busier than I am, how much I love her.
