On the 12nd, MINTROCKET revealed the core content and testing schedule for its new mobile game, 'Godzilla Defense Force: X.'

'Godzilla Defense Force: X' is a business game that spans the 72-year history of the Godzilla series. Players join the Earth Defense Force to battle monsters in cities across the globe. The game features every iteration of the creature, from the original 1954 Godzilla to the monsters from the latest films, and includes a system that allows players to summon them as allies to fight alongside them.

The announcement of this new title stems from the deep affection MINTROCKET CEO Hwang Jae-ho has for the Godzilla IP, as well as his past development experience.

"Anyone who has played the Godzilla DLC will know how much I love Godzilla," Hwang explained. "With a history spanning over 70 years, Godzilla is not being forgotten; it is growing even larger through Hollywood's MonsterVerse and Japan's "Minus One" franchise." He also shared an anecdote about visiting Toho, the Japanese owner of the Godzilla IP, seven years ago to personally secure the rights to develop a Godzilla game.

Furthermore, he shared his reflections on the original game released in the past and detailed the development direction for the new title.

"Although we were unfortunately unable to continue updates because the studio closed shortly after the previous game's launch, it was loved by many fans and recorded over 10 million downloads," Hwang recalled. He emphasized, "MINTROCKET now has a talented team with deep expertise in mobile games. We have taken the foundation of the original project, evolved and expanded it, and completed what we believe is the best Godzilla game we could possibly create."

MINTROCKET is focusing its development efforts on creating a game that will satisfy both long-time, passionate Godzilla fans and new players. 'Godzilla Defense Force: X' is scheduled to undergo small-scale testing in the second half of this year, with an official launch planned for early 2027.
