Last week, prices for select Xbox Game Pass subscription plans were reduced.
However, not all plans were affected. The changes apply only to higher-tier subscriptions; 'Essential' and 'Premium' remain unchanged at ₩10800 and ₩14,900, respectively. PC Game Pass, meanwhile, has been discounted by approximately 14%, dropping from ₩18k to ₩15500. The most expensive tier, 'Ultimate Pass,' saw the most significant reduction, falling 34.5% from ₩29k to ₩19k.
In the U.S., the price adjustments are similar: PC Game Pass has been reduced from $16.49 to $13.99, and Ultimate Pass from $29.99 to $22.99.

Notably, starting this year, new titles in the 'Call of Duty' franchise will no longer support 'day-one' access. These titles will be added to Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass at the end of the year following their release. 'Black Ops 7,' which has already been released, is not subject to this change and remains available, and games from other franchises will continue to support day-one play.
This price reduction for Game Pass is believed to reflect the vision of the new CEO, Asha Sharma. Last week, Sharma sent a message to Xbox staff stating that current subscription fees have become too expensive, noting that "in the short term, Game Pass is priced too high and we need a better approach."
With this reduction, Xbox Game Pass subscription fees have returned to levels seen in 2024. The Game Pass Ultimate plan originally launched at ₩16700 and was even available for ₩11900 at one point, before several adjustments led to a sharp increase to the current ₩29k last October.
