NC's MMORPG 'Aion 2' has launched its Steam page and released an announcement trailer to mark the occasion.
Aion 2 is the sequel to 'AION: The Tower of Eternity,' an MMORPG released by NC in 2008. It was launched in South Korea and Taiwan on November 19 of last year and continues to be serviced successfully.
While Aion 2 faced criticism for its lack of polish at launch, the team quickly incorporated player feedback and implemented rapid improvements. By hosting frequent communication broadcasts, the developers have drawn positive reactions from players who feel that the company is 'different from the NC of the past.' Earlier this month, fans even sent a coffee truck to show their support for the company.
However, the Steam version of Aion 2 will not be officially available in Korea. This version is aimed at global markets outside of Korea and Taiwan, with NCSoft planning to operate servers in four regions: North America, South America, Europe, and Japan. In Korea, the store page will not open and the game will not appear in search results without the use of a VPN.
The game will support a wide range of languages. In addition to Korean, Chinese, and English, French, German, Spanish, Portuguese, Russian, and Japanese have been added to the list of supported languages.
Meanwhile, NC plans to hold an event in May to introduce the game to global players and engage with the community. No specific release date has been announced beyond the target of a 2026 launch.
