Akatsuki Games Inc. announced Tuesday that pre-downloads for its new single-player role-playing game, TRIBE NINE, are now available on both the iOS App Store and Google Play Store. The game is set for a global launch on Feb. 20.

TRIBE NINE plunges players into a dystopian Neo Tokyo, where a masked villain known only as Zero has imposed his own brand of ruthless justice. Under Zero’s rule, the city’s conflicts have been twisted into “Extreme Games” – high-stakes battles that blend survival with the adrenaline of Extreme Baseball, a sport that serves as both inspiration and in-game combat style. Players assume the role of rebellious fighters determined to free their city from Zero’s oppressive control.

Set in the year 20XX, the game offers a richly detailed 2D pixel-style overworld that invites exploration. Gamers will navigate through the neon-lit, ravaged streets of Neo Tokyo, uncovering hidden treasures, engaging in mini-games, and accepting quests from local citizens as they attempt to liberate the city’s oppressed districts. The narrative weaves traditional Japanese storytelling with futuristic dystopia, creating a layered backdrop for the game’s fast-paced action.

Combat in TRIBE NINE is designed to be as strategic as it is explosive. Players control a team of three characters, each with unique skills and combat styles that are essential in overcoming enemy forces and adapting to shifting battle scenarios. Team members not only exchange fire but also provide tactical support, drawing enemy aggression and coordinating powerful counterattacks to help turn the tide in critical moments.

Developed in collaboration with Too Kyo Games – a studio known for top-selling mobile titles – TRIBE NINE is free-to-play with optional in-app purchases. This model allows a wide range of gamers to experience its immersive storyline and dynamic gameplay without an upfront cost.
