G2 PerkZ thanked 'the books' for his successful laning games in the MSI.

On May 20th (PDT) in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil; G2 Esports defeated Team WE in the second semifinals of Mid-Season Invitational 2017 with a record of 3-1. After the match, Luka "PerkZ" Perković had an interview with Riot Games for his thoughts.

PerkZ was thrilled that they managed to win the semifinals: "It just feels really great. I'm really happy that we did it. I always felt like we are a really good team, but in the group stage, we weren't really doing well. We had too much ups and downs, and we were not prepared as we should have been. but...it's great [that we won in the end]."

PerkZ named the early game as the key element of the match: "We just knew that their early game was better after facing them and watching the replays. Their winning condition was having strong bot laners that can roam to other lanes, so we banned those oppressive champs and then we could've had an easier time going into mid game. Also, we had pretty good early game too - thanks to Trick winning all the ganks."

While PerkZ felt that he was redeemed in a way with today's performance, he still had one small goal left to do : "I might personally feel redeemd, but I want to take at least a game off SKT too. SKT is undoubtedly the best team in the world by far, so if we show good performance and not get smashed 0-3, it would be really nice."

When asked about how kept ruling over his 'Lane Kingdom' throughout the tournament, PerkZ answered like a wise king: "It's the books."

PerkZ ended the interview with a heartfelt appreciation for the fans: "I'd like thank all the fans that support us, and we finally redeemed ourselves to you. Just keep supporting us, and we'll keep trying our best until the end of career. I'd also like to thank the crowd, you've been really awesome and you pumped me up so much even when I lost badly. I was always happy to go on stage again. Thank you."
