On Sep. 28, in the Hangzhou Asian Games, the South Korean League of Legends team defeated China in the semifinals and advanced to the finals. The highly anticipated match ended in a 2-0 win for the South Korean team.
After their hard-fought victory, Seo “Kanavi” Jin-hyeok reflected on the match. Kanavi acknowledged China as a formidable opponent, saying, "China is indeed a strong team. We had intense matches, and we managed to secure victories by the narrowest margins in every game." He expressed satisfaction with the draft as well, stating, "We put a lot of effort into researching what the opponent would pick and ban. We didn't get everything right, but we were about 90% accurate."
Jeong “Chovy” Ji-hoon mentioned that facing China was the toughest match of this tournament, and he expressed happiness in securing the win as he said, "We won 2-0, but China played exceptionally well. If we had made a few mistakes, we could have lost." Chovy emphasized that it's not over yet and pledged to give his best until the end. He stated, "We haven't won the gold medal yet. We will do our best in tomorrow's match," affirming their relentless pursuit of the gold medal.
Head coach Kim “kkOma” Jeong-gyun also emphasized that the team should not be careless. "In the past, when we thought we had already won, we sometimes slipped. We will prepare well until the end, and we won't let our guard down until we secure the gold medal."
Leaving the mixed zone, Choi “Zeus” Woo-je concluded the interview by expressing determination to give their all in their quest for the gold medal. He said the team will spend the remaining day preparing both mentally and physically for the final match.
