On the media day for the 2023 LCK Spring Split Finals, T1 joined the media. In the finals, T1 will face the winner of Gen.G vs. KT Rolster, as they won in the winner’s bracket. The finals will be held Apr. 9, where T1 will seek their 11th LCK championship.
When asked who would make it to the finals, everyone picked KT Rolster except Moon “Oner” Hyeon-joon.“Although KT Rolster defeated Gen.G twice during the regular season, the playoffs are a Bo5 series, and there are many variables,” said Oner. “Gen.G would be very determined to win as they need to have revenge for their losses.”
Lee “Faker” Sang-hyeok gave a logical answer. “Since we beat KT Rolster 3-2 and it was 3-1 against Gen.G, I think KT Rolster will win.” Choi “Zeus” Woo-je said, “When we played against the two teams, KT Rolster seemed to be better.” Head coach Bae “Bengi” Seong-woong also gave a similar answer. “It was harder beating KT Rolster, so I think they’ll make it to the finals.”
T1 players shared some pledges for winning the championship as well. Ryu “Keria” Min-seok said, “If we win the spring championship, we’ll win MSI as well.” Faker mentioned a mini-game he was playing on stream, and said, “There’s a jumping mini-game I’ve been playing on stream, and I’ll bring a new version.” Zeus’ answer was simple. “If we win the championship, I’ll work even harder.”
Bengi gave a long thought and said, “T1 streamer Wolf asked me to be his guest on Talk Wave, and I’ll consider it.” Oner promised to do whatever the fans want, “There’s nothing final, but I believe I should do what the fans want.” Lee “Gumayusi” Min-hyeong promised to sing “This is the Moment” from the musical Jekyll and Hyde.
About which lane is the most important, everyone had different answers. Bengi, as a former jungler, picked the jungle, and Faker said that all lanes are important. Top laner Zeus said, “For me, I’m always the most important.” The bot duo mentioned that the top side is key. Keria said, “Gen.G’s mid-jungle intervenes in the bot lane to help them scale, and KT Rolster pressures the top side so that they can’t look after the bot lane, so the top side is important.”
Gumayusi was confident as he said, “Since us winning the bot lane is a constant, the top side is important.” Oner said the exact opposite. “It’s the same for me. Winning the top side is a constant, so the bot lane is important.”
