On Aug. 4, in the 2022 LCK Summer Split, T1 swept Hanwha Life Esports 2-0 and collected their 13th win of the season. It was a clean performance from T1 as they returned from the loss against Gen.G last week. In the match, Choi “Zeus” Woo-je had a great performance, as he was voted as the Player of the Game for the 11th time this season. He collected 1,100 POG points and took a step ahead of the other players. After the match, Zeus joined the press room for an interview.
How do you feel about today’s win?
It’s been a long time since we last won 2-0, so I’m happy that we had a clean win.
How was the feedback after your loss against Gen.G last week?
We were quite disappointed since we lost quite easily. Looking back at the game, there were moments where we should have taken more, but we didn’t, so the feedback was about that.
Hanwha Life Esports’ top laner DuDu’s recent performance was quite good. How did you prepare to face him?
When I watched DuDu’s games, he seemed to play well aggressively. I did keep that in mind, but I didn’t think too much about it. It was similar to preparing for any other match.
During the season, the Gwen vs. Gnar matchup often appeared in the top lane, but Akali is being picked now. What’s the reason?
Gnar was almost always picked, but it seems most teams’ started to have different thoughts about Gnar. There were parts where Gnar could be in an awkward spot. The composition was the most important for us, so I picked Akali.
The top lane is a tough 1v1 lane, and DuDu is the leader of solo kills this season. What did you think?
It’s not that a really good player gets a lot of solo kills — usually, the opponent has to make some mistakes, so I don’t think too much about solo kills. However, since DuDu has many solo kills, I thought that he often makes the opponent make mistakes.
You had said that you’re looking forward to facing Nuguri again. Is there a reason?
When I played against him in Round 1, my performance was disappointing. Also, it seemed that Nuguri sacrifices a lot in the draft, but his laning still excels, so I want to face him again.
Any last comments?
The summer season is nearing its end already. I’d like to have clean wins in our remaining matches, and since I’ve collected a lot of POG points, I’d like to go for it. Still, I shouldn’t be too greedy because I have to maintain a good performance. I’ll work hard. Thank you.
