One of the most iconic Super Smash Bros. Melee players, Adam "Armada" Lindgren, is returning to the scene. 

Armada is one of the Five Gods of Melee, making him one of the most respected players in the scene. The Swedish player is a Peach main who was once the top-ranked player in Europe and second in the world in 2018. While active in the Smash scene, Armada never placed below fifth place at a tournament while also taking a ton of majors during his career. 

Armada retired from Melee singles in 2018 but didn't completely leave the scene. He started commentating at major Melee tournaments and tried out Ultimate, doing pretty well — although nowhere near his impressive showing in Melee. 

Still a big part of Alliance, Armada has been busy with content creation — although it's been a bit distant from Smash. He was mostly doing speedruns of Super Mario 64 on his Twitch as of late. While the Mario speedrunning is entertaining to his loyal fans, the chat often has people asking for Melee content. Well, it's finally happening. 

On Twitter, Armada announced that he will be streaming monthly Melee tournaments. The in-person tournaments will be taking place in Gothenburg, with Armada providing some commentary. He also promised to search for sponsors for the tournament series. 

The Melee community responded with pure joy. Even William "Leffen" Hjelte tweeted that he'd try to stop by. Fans applauded him for doing something with the Melee community, even if he's not competing. Just having him take part in Melee content or tournaments was seen as a win for the Melee world, with many noting that this was a great way to support the grassroots competitive community. 

The Melee tournament series will begin on May 17 and then take place on Tuesdays. The action can be watched from Armada's Twitch channel.
