In a 3-1 semifinals victory, Team Liquid have eliminated Dignitas from the 2022 LCS Lock In. Dignitas took the first game after a back and forth start to the series, but Team Liquid was able to stabilize and win the next three games in an increasingly convincing fashion with each victory.

The series boiled down to the immaculate early game pathing of DIG jungler Kim "River" Dong-woo against the hard-carry play from Team Liquid top laner Gabriël "Bwipo" Rau.

TL opted to start Academy support Bill "Eyla" Nguyen to allow Bwipo and European AD carry Steven "Hans sama" Liv to play the entire series since starting support Jo "CoreJJ" Yong-in has yet to receive his green card, and Bwipo made his presence known in the series on four different champions on four games.

DIG's early game plans went well in the first three games, but even in the first game where they won, the black and yellow had problems closing after picking up early leads. Things fell apart in game four where Bwipo was finally joined by another true carry performance from mid laner Søren "Bjergsen" Bjerg on his signature Zilean. TL, while not being the team in the series with their full starting roster, is the team who will move onto the finals of the 2022 LCS Lock In.

TL's finals appearance later this weekend will allow them a chance to defend their title from last year. TL won the inaugural Lock In in January 2021 in a five-game epic against Cloud9. Dignitas, on the other hand, is the seventh team to be eliminated from the 2022 LCS Lock In.

On the other side of the bracket, a second semifinal series will be played by Evil Geniuses and Cloud9 on Saturday. The loser will join DIG in elimination, while the winner will move on to meet Team Liquid in the finals of the 2022 LCS Lock In.
