On November 18, reports suggested that Kim "Deft" Hyuk-kyu, Cho "BeryL" Geon-hee, and Kim "Zeka" Geon-woo will be joining DRX for 2022. With the new players, BLG PingAnBank head coach Kim "Kim" Jeong-soo will join to lead DRX.
Deft started his LoL career as a bot laner for Samsung Galaxy Blue [Gen.G] in 2013 and transferred to four different teams (EDG, kt, DRX, HLE) over the nine years of his career. Deft managed to qualify to Worlds from every team he played for, becoming the only player to qualify to World Championship from five different teams.
BeryL started his LoL career with DAMWON Gaming [DWG KIA] in 2017 and played with them five years. BeryL played as a core player in DWG KIA's dominance in 2020 and 2021, winning a World Championship and three LCK Championship titles. There were questions to whether DWG KIA can resign all of their FA players, including BeryL, Heo "ShowMaker" Su, and Kim "Canyon" Geon-bu. BeryL seems to have chose to sign with a different team for a new opportunity.
Zeka is a BLG PingAnBank mid laner who started his career as a kt Academy player in 2019. After his tenure on KT, he went to the LPL to play for Vici Gaming in 2020 and BLG in 2021; the young mid laner looks to return to his home country to continue on his pro career.
