One of the largest computer and video game events, gamescom 2017 (from August 22 to 26 in Cologne, Germany), ended its early registration with about 70 percent of the planned spaces already booked. This year’s exhibition will showcase some of the biggest developers, publishers, hardware manufacturers, esports companies, and indie developers.
In the computers and video games segment, notable early registrations include Bandai Namco, CD Projekt, Deep Silver, Electronic Arts, Konami, Microsoft, Ubisoft, Square Enix, Wargaming, and Warner Bros Entertainment. Hardware manufacturing participants include Alternate GmbH, expert Warenvertrieb GmbH, MIFCOM GmbH, and Roccat, while esports tournaments will be prepared by Turtle Entertainment, Webdia Gaming, and ESWC. However, Sony and Nintendo weren’t included in the first exhibitor list.
In the mobile gaming sector, Bigpoint and Netmarble will join the event along with newcomers to gamescom like CCP-Games, Cinkciarz, Micro-Star, and Thunderobot. The event will also showcase many of the best indie developers throughout the world in the Indie Arena Booth. gamescom visitors can expect to see a wide selection of fan items in the fan shop arena, as 46 companies have reserved their spots in the stand spaces. These companies include Game Legends, Konami, Otaku, Panini Verlags GmbH, and Square Enix.
There is a lot for every gamer to like at gamescom 2017. Last year’s event saw 345,000 visitors from 97 countries and 377 exhibitors from 54 countries. Exhibitors from 38 countries registered for this year’s gamescom, which is a 12 percent increase from the previous year.
