On July 8, kt Rolster faced Hanwha Life Esports and DRX met Fredit BRION in the 2021 LCK Summer Split. Hanwha Life Esports defeated kt Rolster to make a 3-game winning streak while DRX finally collected their first win of the season.

In game 1 of the first match, kt Rolster took the lead. The two teams clashed endlessly, and kt Rolster top laner Choi "Doran" Hyeon-joon's Viego scaled well. Hanwha Life Esports still struck back whenever they had the chance. However, when the two teams fought to death, it was Kang "Blank" Seon-gu's Lee Sin that was standing until the end. With that win, kt Rolster took game 1.

Hanwha Life Esports hit back in the second game. It was a clean win as they snowballed their early lead. While Jeong "Chovy" Ji-hoon endured the fights in mid lane, Hanwha Life Esports took benefits around the Rift. After collecting the Baron buff, Hanwha Life Esports marched in and destroyed kt Rolster's Nexus.

Game 3 was the highlight of the match. Hanwha Life Esports drafted Akali for Chovy, and this turned out to be an excellent choice. The two teams were quite close until the 20-minute mark, but it was Chovy to the rescue for Hanwha Life Esports. He recorded a pentakill in a skirmish that got bigger. After that point, Chovy was way too ahead. Through the win, Hanwha Life Esports made a 3-game winning streak.

The second match was between DRX and Fredit BRION. In the first game, DRX focused on their new bot duo and had Kim "Taeyoon" Tae-yoon's Jinx collect more gold. DRX continued to benefit around the Rift and took a 7K global gold lead. Through their lead, they won a big teamfight and closed the game.

Fredit BRION didn't go down easy. They started to snowball as they collected 4 kills from the early game. Although DRX stayed close, after they failed a Baron attempt, Fredit BRION was able to take the win.

From the start of game 3, DRX made the game dizzy. They attacked Fredit BRION from all parts of the map. Although they gave up some kills, DRX took more benefits and took the lead. Fredit BRION tried to stall the game and took two dragons first, but they weren't able to endure the fierce attacks from DRX. Through the win, DRX finally collected their first win of the season.
