Konrad Tomaszkiewicz, game director of the widely successful and critically acclaimed Witcher 3 roleplaying game by Polish game studio CD Projekt, has resigned following accusations about bullying his colleagues, Bloomberg reported Tuesday.

The allegations triggered a "months-long investigation" and a commission cleared Tomaszkiewicz of guilt, the game director himself told Bloomberg, but admitted that he'd still make for an uncomfortable working environment.

“Nonetheless, a lot of people are feeling fear, stress or discomfort when working with me," Tomaszkiewicz said, apologizing also for "all the bad blood I have caused".

This is another black headline for the Polish studio, which has been getting ongoing negative press for months now. In September, shortly before the launch of the much-anticipated Cyberpunk 2077 title, CDPR was called out for breaking their earlier vow to avoid the mandatory crunch. When Cyberpunk 2077 released in December 2020, it caused widespread uproar for its poor day 1 state — chock full of bugs and performance issues, among others. 

The result was a massive plummet in CD Projekt S.A. stock prices and at the time of writing, it stands at $44.36 — the lowest it's been since December 2018. This is despite Cyberpunk's financial success, as the game had reportedly sold over 13M copies worldwide and grossed over $609M as of end of 2020.
