Jun-hyung “Profit” Kim has successfully made his debut today.
On March 5th(KST), SKT T1 once again defeated kt Rolster 2-1 in the first matchup of the 25th day of LCK Spring Split 2017. Today’s victory was especially meaningful to Profit, who made his LCK debut today. He made an impressive debut by playing Rumble in the last set and leading his team to victory. Profit is confident of himself that he can keep up the good work in the future.
Below is the post-match press interview with SKT T1’s Profit.
How do you feel about winning today?
It doesn’t feel real yet, but I’m really happy with the result. I want to give my teammates credit for the victory.
The match between SKT T1 and kt Rolster, aka the “telecom derby”, was the match that everyone was waiting for. Did you know you were going to debut today?
Coach Kim told me beforehand that if Huni loses then I might have to play, so I had to be prepared. He also told me "just remember how you did in the scrims you had before, and you can win this."
Rumble was unbanned as you came on as a substitute. Did SKT T1 expect that?
I guess kt thought I’m not good with Rumble and decided to unban Rumble. But Talon was really hard to deal with.
What is your own strength, especially compared to Huni?
I’ve got the whole map in my sights so I’m pretty good at moving here and there throughout the map. Huni is good at making calls and playing different champions.
There were a lot of exchanges in Set 3. When did you know you were going to win?
As soon as we killed Baron, I knew we would win. It took us some time to actually win, but I knew we would never lose. Our team composition was working out and our champions had great scaling, so I knew we’d win.
Is there any team that you would like to play against?
Not really. I believe in my teammates that they will always play as well as they do.
What did Coach Kim focus on today and what advice did he give you?
He told me to be careful and show me what I’m capable of, since the picks and bans allowed me to pick the best champions for top lane. I want to thank him for giving me this opportunity even though I made some mistakes in recent scrims.
Would you like to say anything to your fans who are looking forward to seeing you?
A big thanks to our fans for their continued support. I’m not satisfied with my current performance so I’ll always do my best to get better. Also a big thanks to our coaches for all the advice they gave me.
