UPDATE 8/25: Groups for VALORANT LVL Clash 2 announced

The team list for the LVL Clash 2 VALORANT Ignition Series was finalized Monday as LVL Global announced the final invited team. The tournament, to take place August 28-29, is the fifth Ignition Series tournament for the European region and comes with a €15,000 prize pool.

G2 Esports hails in as the main protagonists of the tournament. The "samurai" have won four straight Ignition Series so far (with some of their members boasting five total), including the latest one at Allied Esports Odyssey, where G2 rallied behind a mourning David "Davidp" Prins — who lost his father mid-way through the tournament — to pocket the gold. 

The rest of the teams come in as the aspiring opposition, although few have the accolades to show for it. Team Liquid and Ninjas in Pyjamas are perhaps the toughest opponents G2 will have to overcome, showing that they can if not beat, then at least wound the reigning #1. FunPlus Phoenix's young team — signed not two weeks ago — is the only roster that has been able to beat G2 in a best-of series, though the win comes with the asterisk of Davidp's loss in the family. 

The pairings for LVL Clash 2 are yet to be announced. The format is GSL double elimination groups into 8-team single elimination playoffs.
