FlyQuest Jungler Lucas "Santorin" Tao Kilmer Larsen has been named the Mastercard Player of the Week for week 2 of the 2020 League of Legends Championship Series Summer Split. Santorin continued establishing himself as the Troll King of Summoner's Rift with a 2-0 week on Trundle to the tune of a ridiculous 90% kill participation in FlyQuest's wins over TSM and Dignitas.
Santorin is the second player to win the LCS Mastercard Player of the Week Award this summer, as well as the second on FlyQuest this season after Mid Laner Tristan "PowerOfEvil" Schrage won the award in the Spring Split. Evil Geniuses Mid Laner Daniele "Jiizuke" di Mauro, who won the award last week, remains as the only two-time winner in the LCS across the entire season.
Santorin should expect some Trundle bans headed his way in future matches: In 11 games across the Spring Split, Spring Playoffs, and Summer Split, Santorin is now 9-2 on Trundle in the 2020 season. Santorin isn't the only Trundle player in North America, nor was he an innovator of the pick in the global LoL Esports meta, but the Danish dynamo has been unparalleled on the Troll King in North America.
Santorin's career has flourished on FlyQuest throughout the past few seasons. FLY qualified for its first LCS Final in the history of the organization, which is something that could not have been accomplished without Santorin on the starting roster.
FlyQuest currently sits at 3-1 in a 3-way tie for 2nd place with Counter Logic Gaming and Evil Geniuses, but a 2-0 against its next opponents in Golden Guardians and CLG isn't out of the team's reach whatsoever. Golden Guardians' Can "Closer" Çelik is one of the best Junglers in the LCS, but if he and CLG's Raymond "Wiggily" Griffin want to triumph over Santorin, Trundle must not fall into his hands.
