[UPDATED 7/8] Riot Games' "Drops" starting Week 5, providing exclusive loot to LCS viewers

Earlier this year, Riot Games launched their newest title, VALORANT, through a Closed Beta, with access to the game given exclusively through Twitch Drops. Viewers of VALORANT streams would have a chance to earn a Beta Key, giving them access of their own. Now, Riot is mimicking that to add Drops to their site, giving rewards to viewers to celebrate big moments in professional League of Legends.

Starting in Week 5 of the 2020 Summer Split, players who log into their Riot account and watch LCS games on Riot's site, watch.lolesports.com, will receive "digital goods and other promotions" when big plays happen. They haven't provided an all inclusive list, but so far the 'big game moments' they specifically mention are "Baron steals, pentakills, or a series going to the final game."  You must be watching the games live to receive the rewards, and you can see all the Drops you've collected on their site as well.

While they'll only be available for LCS games at launch, players "from all regions and servers will be eligible to collect rewards like skin shards, chromas, prestige points, and Clash tickets." They also plan to expand the service to other regions' games after testing, and may eventually include more specific brand partnership activations in their rewards as well. They also plan to expand the Drops to non-live games.

We won't be getting Drops every single game and maybe not even every single weekend. But regardless, get ready for some more fun ways to interact with professional League of Legends, and get ready for some unique rewards to show you're a fan of the pro scene.
