On April 5th (KST), Griffin finally climbed out of their long losing streak by defeating APK Prince in the 2020 League of Legends Champions Korea Spring Split. In the match, top laner Park “Untara” Ui-jin and bot laner Park “Viper” Do-hyeon had good performances and were voted as players of the game.
Congrats on breaking the losing streak. How do you feel?
Untara: It’s such a relief that we were able to stop the losing streak. I feel good winning today.
Viper: I’m happy that we finally won.
Have you ever had a 10-game losing streak before?
Viper: It’s my first time.
Untara: I don’t remember.
What does it mean to you that you’ve stopped the losing streak?
Viper: We’ve found many things that we need to improve so I think we’ll be able to have better performances in the future.
Game 1 was quite difficult. You won despite the fact you lost all objectives. How did it feel while playing the game?
Untara: If I hadn’t used my ult in the third dragon fight, we would have been able to look for other fights, but we lost all of the objectives because of my mistake. We had to put our guards up and endure.
It’s the first win and first POG for Untara after you returned to the LCK.
Untara: There’s still a long way to go, but it’s really fortunate that we stopped the losing streak. We would need to win the remaining matches so I’ll be working harder.
(To Viper) You played against the damage dealing machine of the “east”. How was it?
Viper: HyBriD is very efficient so I was quite nervous.
How was the feedback during the long losing streak?
Viper: There were many areas that we weren’t doing well so we mostly said we need to concentrate on our fundamentals and basics.
Now that you’ve stopped the losing streak, what’s your next goal?
Untara: We need to win all the matches. We’ll win regardless of the score. There’s still a lot to improve so I’ll do my best.
Any last comments?
Viper: We’ll show more improved performances in the remaining matches.
