Only two games remain in the 2020 League of Legends Championship Series Spring Split, but the only team who has qualified for the post-season is Cloud9, who locked in the 1st seed after going 11-0 to start the season.
Cloud9 was eventually made mortal by TSM after winning its first 12 games but hasn't missed a beat since, sitting comfortably atop the LCS at 15-1 with one week left in the 2020 LCS Spring Split. C9 is not the only team qualified for the 2020 LCS Spring Playoffs, it also definitively locked in a specific seed (1st) before any other teams have had the chance to punch their respective post-season tickets.
TSM and FlyQuest were both in positions to qualify for the post-season upon entering week 8, day 2 of the LCS Spring Split, but both came away unsuccessful after losses to Immortals and 100 Thieves, respectively. Both teams will have to settle staying tied for 2nd place at 9-7 until the final week of the regular split.
Counter Logic Gaming was eliminated from LCS Spring Playoffs contention yesterday after its 13th loss of the season at the hands of Dignitas, but every other team still has a chance at joining Cloud9 in the post-season.
Through 16 games, Evil Geniuses is in a three-way tie with TSM and FlyQuest for 2nd place. Dignitas, who lost to EG in the final match of week 8, is tied with Golden Guardians for 8th place. 100 Thieves' win over FlyQuest and Immortals' win over TSM put both victorious teams into a tie for 5th place. Team Liquid, the four-time reigning LCS champion, holds sole possession of 7th place.
