The mid laner for T1, Lee ‘Faker’ Sang-hyuk donated 30,000,000 KRW (roughly 25,000 USD) to aid the battle against the COVID-19 (Coronavirus) outbreak in South Korea. On the 5th (KST), he donated to the nonprofit organization, ‘Community Chest of Korea’, in the hopes of containing the outbreak and also continued the donation train that many other LCK pros took part in.
Faker commented, “I felt devastated for those that are working day and night to battle the COVID-19. I really wanted to aid those battling the outbreak, and felt that donating to the Community Chest of Korea was the optimal choice. I hope that everyone bands together to overcome this terrible situation, and hope to see real support being given to those necessary.”
Meanwhile, because of the growing COVID-19 outbreak, the LCK went on an indefinite hiatus to ensure the safety of everyone involved in the league. In order to contain the virus, other LCK pros such as Chovy and Bdd have also donated to the cause.
