The following was sent to Inven Global as a press release.
Leading gaming creator and live streamer Imane “Pokimane” Anys has signed a multi-year deal to continue to stream exclusively on Twitch. The deal was brokered by Pokimane’s representatives at UTA.
The recommitment will provide new opportunities for Pokimane to expand her homegrown Twitch community and to leverage the platform’s wide variety of streaming tools to further develop her esports content. She has been one of the most beloved creators on Twitch since she started streaming in 2013, and she is widely considered to be one of the first Twitch stars to break into the mainstream landscape.
Pokimane currently has over 17M followers across all her social channels and 3.9M followers on Twitch. She also is the most-followed female Twitch streamer and is ranked in the top 10 of overall follower count across the entire platform.
Additionally, Pokimane is passionate about helping support aspiring gamers. Most recently, she donated $50,000 to the University of California, Irvine, for student scholarships in its esports program. Her gift marked the first endowment in the history of UCI Esports, and will fund tuition and other academic fees for gamers who are awarded the merit-based “Pokimane Scholarship.”
The donation was motivated by Pokimane's experience streaming on Twitch as a college student. Twitch will continue to promote her philanthropic efforts as she finds new ways to give back to the esports community. “Since I began my gaming career on Twitch six years ago, the platform has given me such an incredible opportunity to create content and connect with people around the world,” Pokimane said.
“The community of streamers on Twitch, as well as the community I've built around my channel, both mean so much to me. I want to continue to make a lasting impact on the world of live streaming, and I truly believe there's no other place that has the infrastructure and tools that will allow me to do so.”
“Over the years, Pokimane has made significant contributions to the Twitch community and has become emblematic of the connection and experiences that Twitch is known for,” said Michael Aragon, Twitch’s senior VP of content and partnerships. “Creators like Pokimane are driving the future of what’s possible with live streaming and speak to the way in which the Twitch platform has grown to reach new audiences. We couldn’t be more excited that Twitch will be her home for years to come."
